Inside Your Bakes for Venezuela Box
Thank you for being part of this "dulce ayuda"
Hola and thank you from the bottom of my heart!
This box was created during a moment of heartbreak - but also with hope, love and action.
By purchasing Bakes for Venezuela, you helped raise urgent funds for earthquake relief in Venezuela. Every single dollar from your box is being donated as the ingredients, labour and packaging have been personally contributed by Margot & Montañez.
Inside your box is a small journey through Latin sweetness: desserts connected to family tables, birthdays, school memories, coastal flavours, homemade traditions and the comfort we reach for when words are not enough.
Thank you for helping turn pain into something useful.
Con amor,
Jen x
What’s inside your box
Alfajor
A delicate sandwich cookie filled with creamy dulce de leche.
The alfajor is one of Latin America’s most loved sweets, especially treasured in Argentina, Uruguay and Peru, but also known across many parts of the continent. Its story is older than Latin America itself, with roots that travel back through Spain and the Arab world before being transformed in South America into the soft, dulce de leche-filled treat we know today.
Alfajores are often gifted, shared with coffee, packed into lunchboxes, served at celebrations or kept as a small everyday indulgence.
In this box, the alfajor represents comfort: soft, familiar, generous and filled with sweetness.
Allergens: Milk, Eggs. The version in the box is Gluten-Free.
Brigadeiro
A rich Brazilian chocolate truffle made with condensed milk, cocoa and sprinkles.
In Brazil, brigadeiros are almost inseparable from birthdays. They are rolled by hand, placed in little paper cups and arranged on party tables like tiny jewels. Children grow up reaching for them, adults still love them and no celebration feels quite complete without them.
In Brazil, a birthday table without brigadeiros feels almost unfinished.
In this box, the brigadeiro brings celebration - a reminder that even in difficult times, sweetness can carry joy.
Allergens: Milk. The version in the box is gluten-free.
Cocada
A chewy coconut sweet, golden and fragrant.
Cocadas are found across many parts of Latin America and the Caribbean, each place giving them its own character. In Venezuela, coconut sweets are deeply connected to coastal flavours, beach towns, street vendors, markets and homemade recipes passed from one generation to the next.
Coconut has a way of carrying sunshine. One bite can feel like warm air, salt on your skin and the sound of the coast.
Cocada tastes like the Caribbean side of Venezuela: simple, tropical and full of sun.
In this box, cocada brings warmth: coconut, sweetness and the flavour of home by the sea.
Allergens: Milk, Eggs. The version in the box is Gluten-Free.
Marquesa de Chocolate
A no-bake Venezuelan chocolate dessert layered with biscuits and chocolate cream.
Marquesa de chocolate is one of Venezuela’s most beloved homemade desserts. It is the dessert of birthdays, Sunday lunches, school celebrations and family gatherings. Every family seems to have its own version, but the heart is always the same: layers of biscuits, chocolate cream and time.
It is usually made ahead and left to set, which is part of its charm. The biscuits soften, the chocolate settles and the dessert becomes something rich, cold, comforting and deeply familiar.
Marquesa is the cake Venezuelan families make when they want something loved, reliable and impossible to resist - without turning on the oven.
Allergens: Milk, Egg, Wheat.
Mini Samba
A nostalgic Venezuelan-inspired chocolate and strawberry treat.
Samba is one of those Venezuelan sweets many people remember instantly. It belongs to kiosks, school breaks, afternoon cravings, pocket money and the joy of choosing a treat as a child. For many Venezuelans, it is not just a chocolate bar, it is a memory of growing up.
Our mini version is inspired by that feeling: chocolate, strawberry cream and playful nostalgia in a handmade bite.
In this box, Mini Samba is nostalgia - a sweet little wink to childhood for those who remember and a joyful introduction for those discovering it for the first time.
Allergens: Milk, Egg, Wheat.
Papitas de Leche
A traditional Venezuelan milk sweet, often shaped like little potatoes.
Papitas de leche are a nostalgic Venezuelan treat made with milk, sugar and warm spice, often finished with a clove. They are the kind of sweet you remember from birthday parties, school celebrations, family gatherings and dessert tables made with care by mothers, aunties and grandmothers.
Their name means “little milk potatoes” because they are traditionally shaped to look like tiny potatoes. However, for this box, I shaped them especially for the occasion, while keeping their tender Venezuelan spirit.
Papitas de leche are proof that the simplest ingredients can hold the deepest memories.
In this box, papitas de leche represent Venezuela: humble, sweet, tender and full of childhood nostalgia.
Allergens: Milk. The version in the box is Gluten-Free.
Dulce de Leche Popcorn
A playful sweet-salty popcorn coated with dulce de leche and finished with a pinch of sea salt.
This one is not a traditional Vemezuelan (or Latin) dessert, but it comes from a very personal kind of tradition: our Saturday escapes to the cinema.
For me, cinema has always been a little pause from the noise of life. A few hours to sit in the dark, breathe, laugh, cry or dream, with something sweet and salty in hand. This popcorn is a fun Margot & Montañez take on that feeling - familiar movie-night comfort with a Latin soul, thanks to dulce de leche.
Not every tradition is old. Some are the small rituals we create to survive, rest and feel human again.
In this box, dulce de leche popcorn brings playfulness - a little crunch, a little comfort and a sweet reminder that joy still matters.
Allergens: Milk. The version in the box is Gluten-Free.
A small box, a bigger purpose
This box is beyond just desserts. It is a dulce ayuda (sweet help) - a small act of love, grief, hope and action for Venezuela.
It carries tradition, memory and comfort, but also something practical: help.
Thank you for ordering.
Thank you for caring.
Thank you for standing with Venezuela.
